You are covered for every trip you make through the plan year with a 90 day maximum trip length for any given trip.
You get “Cancel For Work Reasons” with the Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption Coverage
You are covered even if you are a sole proprietor, you own your business, or are self-employed. Here’s how it works:
- You’re covered if have to work & therefore cannot take your trip
- There’s no stipulation about the reason you have to work
- You must present a notarized letter stating that you must work & cannot travel for the claim documentation plus the other typical documentation.
90 day Pre-existing Conditions Lookback Period
The Insurer will not pay for any loss or expense incurred as the result of an Injury, Sickness or other condition of you, traveling companion, business partner or Immediate Family Member which, within the 90 day period immediately preceding and including your coverage effective date: first manifested itself or had symptoms which would have prompted a reasonable person to seek diagnosis, care or treatment; or for which care or treatment was given or recommended by a Physician; or required the taking of prescription drugs or medicines, unless the condition for which the drugs or medicines are taken remains controlled without any change in the prescription drugs or medicines.

Annual Plan benefits are shown as the total per year. This means if you use any amount, your remaining benefits decrease by that amount for the balance of your policy year. Renewing your plan resets the benefits to their full amounts.

Q. How long must my bags be delayed before I am covered under baggage delay?
A. Your baggage delay coverage goes into effect 12 hours after your bags have been delayed.
Q. What is the maximum amount of cancellation I may purchase?
A. You have the option of purchasing an annual maximum trip cancellation coverage limit of either $2,500 or $5,000.
Q. What time period do you look back regarding Pre-Existing conditions?
A. 90 days.
Q. How far from home do I need to be for my coverage to be effective?
A. In order for all services and insured benefits other than Trip Cancellation and Interruption to be in effect, you must be traveling at least 100 miles from your permanent residence.
Q. How long is my coverage in effect?
A. Travel Guard annual plans include 365 days of coverage for trips lasting 90 days or less. You may take as many trips as you like during the year, but each trip must be less than 90 consecutive days.
